5th Dimension Virtual Reality Arcade Opens in White Plains
The Metaverse has arrived according to Andrew Szczeszynski, co-owner of 5th Dimension VR which opened on February 10 at 55 Church St. in downtown White Plains. This new 5,000 square foot arcade space features 18 virtual reality booths and two party rooms. These virtual reality gaming arcades enables kids to interact with friends and groups in VR Paintball or to fly around with their friends in Skyfront.
5th Dimension VR offers 30 different games on state of the art computers and Valve Index headsets. And the new generation of VR games offer much improved graphics. “It used to be that VR experiences paled to traditional PC games. Now games like Half Life Alyx and After the Fall compete in look and feel to high end PC games, yet offer much more immersive gameplay,” according to Szczeszynski.
Szczeszynski even offers a COVID concerned parent, suggesting that 5th Dimension VR offers a COVID friendly environment. “Each player stands in their own booth, separated by walls from everyone else. Yet everyone is able to see and interact with each other in the virtual world. All the equipment is fully sanitized between uses. Every person gets a freshly sanitized face gasket which connects magnetically to the headset. This minimizes the risk of transmission.”
The arcade offers VR booths rentable by the half-hour allowing clients to play VR games in their own booths, as well as offering party packages for larger groups.
