The Case Against 8, Q&A with David Boies, Sun, 3/31: 4pm: After the California Supreme Court ruled in May 2008 that same-sex couples could marry, a proposition was put to voters to amend the state constitution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. After that proposition was passed, a group decided to challenge the constitutionality of the amendment. This documentary follows the efforts of the plaintiffs and lawyers over four years as the case winds its way through the courts. An audience discussion and Q&A with local and legendary lawyer who led the case, David Boies, will follow the film. An Evening with Comedy Legend Robert Klein, Thurs, 4/18: 7pm Show, 8:30pm Cocktail Reception: Robert Klein, twice-nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album of the Year for his albums Child of the Fifties and Mind Over Matter, brings his relevant, bitingly intelligent and edgy humor to the Playhouse stage, along with some very entertaining musical parodies. WTD took in Robert Klein’s show at The Chappaqua Arts Center last year and it was indeed an unforgettable evening of jokes, songs, and stories with a legend!
