Pandemic Players Holiday Cheer – The Man Who Came To Dinner: The Schoolhouse Theater’s Pandemic Players (impromptu) holiday Zoom play readings wrap up with Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman’s 1939, three-act comedy The Man Who Came To Dinner. The play, set in a small town in Ohio during Christmas time, ran for 739 performances at Manhattan’s Music Box Theater.
Synopsis: While on a speaking tour in Ohio, opinionated and arrogant radio personality Sheridan Whiteside injures himself slipping on ice and becomes an unexpected houseguest for a prominent area family, the Stanleys. Whiteside proceeds to make brash proclamations and offer his unsolicited advice to the family members. When a romance begins between Whiteside’s assistant, Maggie Cutler, and a local reporter, Bert Jefferson, he interferes with that as well.
The Pandemic Players continue their weekly (impromptu) ZOOM play readings. These ZOOM events have been maxing out fast – so make sure you get your ZOOM link that they post on their site every Monday.
