Alex Lounge Wins Best Wings at White Plains Wing Weeks: The City of White Plains Mayor Tom Roach and the White Plains BID recently announced that Alex Lounge Bar & Grill was crowned the winner for the best tasting wing in the 2021 Downtown White Plains Wing Weeks. More than 16,300 wings were consumed over four weeks from the fifteen White Plains restaurants that participated in Wing Weeks from April 11 through May 8.
Each of the restaurants featured a different flavor of wings and each wing eater was invited to rate their wings on a scale of one to five. When all the wing votes were cast and counted Alex Lounge Bar & Grill’s Cilantro Lime Wings came up on top with an average rating of 4.76.
The Alex Lounge Bar & Grill is a classic sports bar with multiple big screens and serves up over 190 different tequilas. While the menu leans Mexican featuring classic molcajete, Lomo Saltado, Rosalita’s Enchiladas, Short Rib and Mahi Mahi Tacos and Chipotle Chili Burgers – they also offer pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and Honey Jack BBQ ribs. Plus, ten different wings from their Cilantro Lime Wings to Thai Peanut, Cinnamon Fireball Whiskey and Traditional Buffalo wings with blue cheese and celery.
White Plains Bid Wing Weeks is the brainchild of Mayor Tom Roach and debuted in 2019 as a one-day event. The 2019 winner was White Plains’ Lazy Boy Saloon & Ale House who won with their Tequila Citrus wings. The nationally recognized Lazy Boy Saloon & Ale House boasts the best craft beer selection in the County and our area’s longest running Jam Session. They serve up eleven different wing preparations, Black Angus Chili, Kobe Burgers, thin crust grilled pizzas, Steak Frites, White Truffle Mac n’ Cheese, soups, salads and wraps.
The 2020 Wing Weeks was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but Mayor Roach says “Wing Walk is on its way to becoming a much-anticipated annual tradition in White Plains!”
