Jacob Burns Film Center: Beyond The Frame – Exhibition on Screen: Klimt and the Kiss
Jacob Burns Film Center’s new series Beyond The Frame kicks off with Klimt and The Kiss that delves into the detail and passion surrounding Gustav Klimt’s iconic artwork, as well as the scandalous life of the artist himself. The film provides a fascinating portrait of the decadent Art Nouveau movement which Klimt was renowned for, and takes the viewer on a shimmering journey through the history behind one of the most reproduced paintings in the world.
This Burns’ film series continues with Holy Frit, about Tim Carey the L.A. artist who bluffs his way into a commission to create the largest stained glass window of its kind on February 28. Robert Irwin: A Desert of Pure Feeling on March 20. And Exhibition on Screen: John Singer Sargent on April 17.
