Marine Life Cruises at The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk: The Norwalk Aquarium’s new 63 foot research vessel is North America’s first to run on hybrid-electric power. The vessel runs silently on electric power for their 2½-hour “study cruises” on the Long Island Sound. Built in Mamaroneck, the vessel doubles the aquarium’s cruise capacity and cuts diesel consumption by 75%. A Very Hairy Fairy Tale: This new musical by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman offers updated and humorous twists to this Grimm fairy tale that adults can enjoy along with their kids. Including, the evil enchantress Lady Za Za (expect contemporary jokes) and the handsome Sir Roderick who travels with his hairdressing sidekick Edgar as they search for true love and a perfect head of hair. Bicycle Sundays on the Bronx River Parkway: Sponsored by Con Edison and the Friends of Westchester County Parks, a six and a half mile stretch of the Bronx River Parkway is closed for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, scooters and strollers. Bedford Fishing Derby: The Bedford Recreation Department’s 15th annual Fishing Derby at Lake Marie is open to kids to age 15. Bring your own fishing rod. Little Shop Of Horrors, Byram Hills School Theatre: The Byram Hills School Theatre presents Little Shop Of Horrors, the quirky musical from Alan Menken and Howard Ashman based on the 1960 Roger Corman film about a florist who raises a plant that feeds on human flesh. The 1982 musical ran off Broadway for five years, was made into a motion picture in 1986 and produced on Broadway in 2003.
