Armonk International Tennis Academy Summer Camps
Armonk International Tennis Academy Summer Camps: AITA summer tennis camps at Armonk Tennis Club (ATC) have long been a staple for families looking for a fun and enriching summer tennis experience for their kids. Set back a hundred yards off Rt. 22 on a woodsy compound behind a stone wall, few clubs can rival the year-round ambiance of Armonk Tennis. With 14 meticulously maintained Har-Tru tennis courts, a 25-yard swimming pool, basketball court, snack bar and playing fields, ATC offers big camp facilities in a private club atmosphere.
Armonk International Tennis Academy (AITA) features summer programs for both elite and casual players. With two separate camps, players are able to set and attain their own goals, be it to comprehensively improve their games in a competitive environment, or to learn at a steadier, less intensive pace.
AITA Junior Camp is designed for players ages 6–15 who are not ready for the Advanced Camp. Throughout the five-day week, players enhance their strokes and strategies via skill-building drills and games, situational play, organized matches, and individual attention. Each day includes time for field sports and swimming. For more information, contact Doug Sherman at doug@armonktennis.com.
AITA Advanced Camp is for tournament-level players ages 8–17. The program consists of intensive group drilling, tactical training, private instruction, fitness routines, and more. In addition to drill and fitness sessions there is match/point play every day. It runs Monday–Thursday to accommodate players’ tournament schedules. Please note that players must be evaluated and recommended for this program. For more information, contact Greg Anderson at ganderson@armonkindoor.com.

Tennis Year Round at Armonk Tennis Club
Tennis is a year-round sport at Armonk Tennis Club. ATC’s Junior Development program runs from September through April. It is designed for children of all ages and skill levels and is dedicated to provide players with the most enjoyable experience, as well as the greatest opportunity to reach their full potential.
This four-level program begins with Pee-Wee Tennis beggining at age 3 1/2–4. Both the Pee Wee and our Tennis Tots program, for ages 5-7, incorporate smaller rackets and shortened courts. Tennis Challengers, ages 8–10, move up to larger courts and use a slightly larger racket. Our Tennis Champs, ages 11–16, graduate to full size rackets and a full size court. Each level builds on the skills developed at prior levels, and all programs are in compliance with the USTA’s Junior National Tennis Rating Program (JNTRP), which rates juniors from 1.0 to 5.0.
Armonk International Tennis Academy
Armonk International Tennis Academy at Armonk Tennis and Armonk Indoor is an intensive program specifically designed for dedicated junior players. Its multiple age/ability levels within two connected paths–Team and High Performance–allow players to continually set and attain individual goals. Its programs are in compliance with the USTA’s Junior National Tennis Rating Program (JNTRP), which rates juniors from 1.0 to 5.0. Each level includes the skills developed at prior levels and adds additional expectations.
AITA’s Team Path begins with our Pre-Academy group where players ages 7–10 with an NTRP rating of 2.5–3.0 meet in weekly classes and compete in supervised match play during the winter. Pre-Academy players can advance to AITA’s Team Prospect, Team Juniors and Team Futures groups, for ages 8-16 with an NTRP rating of 3.0–4.0. Each group meets in twice-weekly classes, continues with supervised match play and their players become eligible for USTA tournaments.
