ArtsWestchester Reopens with COVID Exhibit
ArtsWestchester Reopens with COVID Exhibit: ArtsWestchester will reopen its 4,800ft2 gallery with soaring 20-foot-high ceilings and distinctive palladium windows on May 7 with “Together apART: Creating During COVID.” The exhibition features 250 works of painting, photography, sculpture, craft, song, and more by 224 Hudson Valley artists created since the pandemic hit just over a year ago.
CEO of ArtsWestchester Janet Langsam explains, “COVID-19 has profoundly changed the contours of our daily lives. At this time of great loss and physical distancing, many of us have turned to creative outlets to help us cope, to express our anguish, and to gain agency when we feel helpless.” Together apART, curated by ArtsWestchester’s Deputy Director Kathleen Reckling showcases a wide range of art forms that document shared experiences from quarantine diaries and cookbooks to handcrafted masks, paintings, photography, gouache and more.
