Caramoor: Picnic on the Grounds/Hear the Music Select Sundays / $20
Caramoor will open its picnic grounds on five Sundays during their 2021 summer festival season for an admission fee of just $20. Best of all, you can remain on Friends Field and hear the music during the concerts at the Venetian Theatre, Caramoor’s open-air tented Main Stage. Admission is free for children and Caramoor members. Caramoor’s Picnic on the Grounds/Hear the Music Sundays will kick off on June 27 when house band the Orchestra of St. Lukes with conductor Tito Munoz and violinist Tai Murray perform Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Fanfare for the Common Man among others.
Also on tap for Picnic on the Grounds/Hear the Music Sundays is Caramoor’s annual Pops & Patriots concert on July 4 with the Westchester Symphonic Winds who will perform works from Duke Ellington, John Phillip Sousa, George Gershwin and the traditional performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. For Baroque music fans there’s the July 18 performance with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra will Rowan Pierce (soprano). And Cleveland’s famed Baroque Orchestra, Apollo’s Fire, who will perform three works from Vivaldi including Summer from The Four Seasons. Finally the series closes on Caramoor’s Summer Festival closing night when the Orchestra of St. Lukes, with violinist Leonidas Kavakos take on an all-Bach program. All concerts are at 4pm.

Afternoon Tea at Caramoor/Hear the Music Sundays
Another way to enjoy the music on these five select Sundays is with Caramoor’s Afternoon Teas. Afternoon Tea is served in the Spanish Courtyard of the historic Rosen House. Tea service includes a variety of tea sandwiches, scones with crème fraiche and preserves, delicious desserts, and a variety of fragrant teas all served on exquisite vintage china. You are also welcome to reserve a spot for an optional, self-paced tour of the historic Rosen House. As you walk through the House, you’ll learn about the Rosen family, their much-loved country home, and their art collection. Then you can stroll through Caramoor’s colorful gardens and bucolic grounds or attend an afternoon concert or hear the music from Friends Field at 4pm.
