Choices: A Rock Opera at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center
Following 3 sold-out premiere performances at Whippoorwill Hall in April, Choices: A Rock Opera moves to the 425 seat Chappaqua Performing Arts Center for two nights in November. Choices creator, Armonk’s John Krupa, has reworked the book with the help of a focus group of Tony-Award winning producers and even a licensed therapist who Krupa hired to psychoanalyze the main characters. And written six new songs for the opera that plumb the depths of the lovers’ motivations even deeper than the original score.
Choices tells the story of a driven frontman for a successful 1980’s spandex and hairspray rock band who looks into the emotional abyss of his life and turns his back on his debauched life-style for one of domestic bliss. Replacing one void in his life with another. As he discovers the bittersweet reality that even choices we don’t regret come with trade offs that we’d rather not have been forced to make.
Choices: A Rock Opera stars celebrated Broadway star MiG Ayesa (Rock of Ages) who also appeared in the London stage production of the Queen jukebox musical We Will Rock You. And was a finalist in the reality television show Rock Star: INXS. The 2005 reality competition show ooking for a new lead singer for the rock group INXS. And the beguiling new talent, singer and actress Layla Davias
