Greenwich International Film Festival, Thurs-Sun, 5/29-6/2: The GIFF presents 58 films from 20 countries in five venues including narrative features, documentaries, shorts, kids shorts and films focused on CT. The festival’s centerpiece films includes the opening night film Brittany Runs a Marathon , the 2019 Sundance Audience Award-winner starring Jillian Bell of 22 Jump Street,; Blinded by the Light, about a British teen of Pakistani descent obsessed with the music of Bruce Springsteen; Brian Banks, the real life story about a high school football star who fights to get his NFL career back on track after six years in prison wrongly accused of rape, and Safe Spaces starring Fran Drescher and Justin Long about a professor’s controversial exchange with a student in class. The festival also features a 5th Anniversary Gala Park and concert with Kesha at The Capitol Theatre and the Changemaker Gala which will honor actress and activist Eva Longoria Baston and Bobby Walker Jr., CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich. Pop Diva Alert! Greenwich International Film Festival’s Epic Anniversary Party ft. Kesha, Capitol Theatre, Sat, 6/1: 8:45pm: GIFF’s Epic Anniversary Party celebrates the five-year anniversary of the Festival. This star-studded event will feature a concert performance by pop-diva and chart topper Kesha. Kesha has had ten Top Ten singles, including No. 1 hit Til-Tok, and two albums that reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 – Animal (2017) and Rainbow (2018). Rockwood Ramble 10K, Rockefeller State Park, Sleepy Hollow, Sat, 6/1: 9am: This beautiful and challenging 10K course on carriage trails through Rockefeller State Park Preserve begins at Rockwood Hall overlooking the Hudson River. All proceeds benefit the park’s trail maintenance. This race features an accurate, wheel-measured course with results posted immediately after the race.
