Abduction from the Seraglio, Taconic Opera: The Taconic Opera presents Mozart’s laugher of a German comedy for the first time! “Finding a cast that could sing the opera’s brutally difficult music was the reason we held off presenting this opera until now,” reveals Dan Montez, General Director. The poet Goethe said that Abduction from the Seraglio“knocked everything else sideways. “A story of two men who rescue their lovers from a Turkish harem, Abduction takes us on a comic voyage from captivity to the pleasures of torture to unexpected liberation.
