Bedford Playhouse: Silent Films with Ben Model

Pianist Ben Model plays accompaniment to an afternoon of timeless films from the great comedians of the silent era. Featuring: The Immigrant with Charlie Chaplin – A tramp endures a challenging sea voyage and gets into trouble as soon as he arrives in America. Cops with Buster Keaton – A series of mishaps manages to cause a big city’s entire police force to chase after a confused young man. Battle of the Century with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy – A fight manager takes out an insurance policy on a puny boxer and proceeds to arrange for an accident so he can collect, resulting in one of the greatest pie-throwing scenes of all time.
