Family Day at KMA: The Katonah Museum of Art’s Not So Still Life Family Day features art projects hosted by the Katonah Art Center along with gallery, poetry and dance activities inspired by the theme of still life. In addition to receiving a Family Guid to explore KMA’s current Still/Live exhibition there are a host of activities in the gallery and in the Marilyn M. Simpson Sculpture Garden.

Including

• Create an imaginative Not So Still Life Flip Book with the help of Katonah Art Center artist, Kate Marlowe. Make an object jump, roll or break, illustrate an animal climbing out of an object or transform an object into something new
• Join Katonah Art Center guest artist Sophie Mendelson as she teaches families to create Still Life in the Shadows artworks using pastels.
• Think creatively about ordinary objects with an Ode to an Object poetry activity lead by writer-in-residence Pamela Hart.
• Dancer Milerka Rodrigues presents fun movement dance games including The Museum Game, Move and Freeze and Pose Like an Object.
