Friends of Music: Emerson String Quartet

The Emerson String Quartet makes it’s 18th and final appearance in the Friends of Music series as they recently announced that their 2022-23 season will be their last. Over the past 30 years Emerson has earned plaudits far and wide. Including from The Seattle Times who wrote they are “high in the pantheon of chamber music,” while The Times (London) has enthused, “with musicians like these there must be some hope for humanity.”

Their program on this occasion will include:

• Felix Mendelssohn, String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 12
• Johannes Brahms, String Quartet No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 51, No. 1
• George Walker, “Lyric” for String Quartet
• Antonín Dvořák, String Quartet in A-flat Major, Op. 105
