Greenwich Wine & Food Festival: Martha Stewart, Little Big Town and a host of Food Network stars bring the red carpet treatment to this annual Greenwich Feeding Frenzy. The Greenwich Wine + Food Festival presented by PepsiCo returns for its ninth year on Friday and Saturday, September 20-21. The weekend itinerary includes an Opening Night Master Chef Wine Gala on Friday and a full day of food, drinks, music and fun on the shore of the Long Island Sound at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Saturday.
On Friday night the festival will honor Katonah’s own Martha Stewart at its Opening Night Master Chef Wine Gala – The Big Easy. The gala, hosted by Gary Dell’Abate (The Howard Stern Show’s “Baba Booey”) will showcase the culinary and music scene of New Orleans. It will feature the cuisine of Serendipity’s Most Innovative Chefs for 2019 and special performances from the GRAMMY award-winning hip hop Rebirth Brass Band.
On Saturday, check out the Grand Tasting Tent, where you will find tastings and demonstrations from more than 150 of the area’s finest food, wine and spirits experts. There are areas devoted to the best in BBQ, tacos and more. The 8th Annual Burger Battle and 6th Annual Top Bartender Showdown will also return. There will be sommelier, mixologist and brew master presentations, celebrity book signings, and cooking demos with Special Guest Chefs. Plus, a celebrity green room with live interviews and an exclusive Meet the Masters panel discussion.
VIP ticket holders will also be treated to an exceptional dinner, prepared by Festival Ambassador Chefs in a special waterside tented area. Confirmed celebrity talent includes Emmy Award-winner Valerie Bertinelli (Food Network’s Valerie’s Home Cooking), Geoffrey Zakarian (Chopped! Judge and Chef/Partner The Lambs Club at The Chatwal and Point Royal at The Diplomat Beach Resort), Margaret Zakarian (President of Zakarian Hospitality), Marc Murphy (Food Network’s Chopped), Jessica Tom (Food Network Star season 14 winner), David Rose (Food Network Star season 13 finalist) and caterer to the stars Mary Giuliani.
When the kitchen closes, head over to the Pepsi Music Stage for three-time Grammy Award-winners Little Big Town who will perform from hits like “Pontoon,” “Tornado,” “Day Drinking,” and “Girl Crush.” Hip hop/jazz/funk/folk-rocker Michael Franti & Spearhead will open the evening for Little Big Town
Proceeds from this year’s Greenwich Wine & Food Festival will benefit Food Rescue US, a non-profit organization based in Connecticut, that is a leader in reducing both hunger and food waste in America, and the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation Foundation.
