Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival Returns: The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) will return to Boscobel on the Hudson with two productions and an audio play in 2021. Seating at HVSF’s open-air tent will be distanced and limited to capacity guidelines outlined by the state. Negative COVID tests or proof of vaccination will be required and all admittance is by timed entry. Face masks will be required.
The festival will open on June 7 with an original audio play of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Streaming is free with recommended donations of $10 per person and is available through June 20.
HVSF’s final 2021 production is Shakespeare’s The Tempest. It will open for previews on August 5 and run for twenty-seven nights through September 4. The Tempest will be HVSF’s final performance before they move to their new, permanent home in nearby Philipstown. A 115 acre tract of land, currently part of the Garrison Golf Course, donated by philanthropist Chris Davis.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, May 27.
