Museum Views Coast to Coast: The Broad & The Mattress Factory

Prof. Val Franco in her weekly virtual Art Lectures for the North Castle Library takes you from sunny Los Angeles to no-nonsense Pittsburgh to explore two fabulous art collections in those cities.  Billionaire Eli Broad started his own museum after years of contributing to other arts institutions ( most notably LACMA), often in search of a home for his collection.  Conversely, The Mattress Factory, situated in, you guessed it, a former mattress factory, was conceived of as studio space and gathering spot for artists to create and come together.
