Pandemic Players: Sideman
The Schoolhouse Theater’s Pandemic Players’ weekly (impromptu) virtual play readings continue with this presentation of Warren Leight’s 1996 play inspired by his father who was a jazz musician for hire – a sideman selected by a star musician to accompany him or fill in for a member of his jazz combo. The play begins in the 1950’s and follows the sideman’s path for 35 years. The play debuted on Broadway in 1998 and ran for almost two years. It was a Pulitzer finalist in 1999.
