Pandemic Players: The Trip to Bountiful:The Schoolhouse Theater’s Pandemic Players weekly impromptu play readings continues the day after Thanksgiving with a reading of Horton Foote’s 1954 play about a Houston woman’s pilgrimage to her home town to escape her daughter-in-law who hates her and her son who refuses to defend her.
This multi-award winner was revived off-Broadway in 2005-6 and on Broadway in 2013 where it starred Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams. Horton Foote, a Tony Lifetime Achievement Award-winner won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his 1995 The Young Man From Atlanta, and two Academy Awards for his original screenplay for Tender Mercies and his screen adaptation for To Kill a Mockingbird.
