Rocky’s 5K: Rockefeller State Park
Beautiful fall foliage is the perfect backdrop for Rocky’s 5K. Challenging hills and wide carriage roads – the perfect race for experienced trails runners and first timers. If you are familiar with the Rockies, test your stamina and charge those uphills! First 5K? The well marked course and friendly volunteers will make it enjoyable from start to finish. Overall and age group awards, t-shirts and refreshments. The course is spectator friendly, close to parking and features beautiful terrain – the lake, woodlands and rolling pastures.
This scenic course on well-maintained carriage trails through Rockefeller State Park Preserve is a runner’s paradise. You’ll find it right off Rt. 117 just past Pace College. It begins near the main parking lot and follows the scenic 13 Bridges and Gory trails. There isn’t a prettier place to run in our area. Best of all, your admission fee supports the park’s trail maintenance program.
