He has garnered iconic hits with original songs like “Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk,” “April Fools”.  And he has put his indelible spin on legendary songs like Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and The Beatles “Across the Universe.” He has collaborated with Elton John, David Byrne, Joni Mitchell and Burt Bacharach. His album Rufus Does Judy, recorded at Carnegie Hall, was nominated for a Grammy Award.
