The Pleasantville Music Festival
The Pleasantville Music Festival also known as New York’s Backyard Jam will feature 18 bands on three stages delivering 9 1/2 hours of music on Pleasantville’s Parkway Field.
Headlining this year’s festival are legendary Brooklyn alt rockers, They Might Be Giants. John Linnell and John Flansburgh kicked down the doors of alternative rock in 1986 with hit singles “Don’t Let’s Start” and “Ana Ng” and went platinum with their 1990 album, Flood, featuring “Birdhouse in Your Soul” and “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)”.
Other festival headliners include The Allman Betts Band with Devon Allman (son of Gregg), Duane Betts (son of Dickey); singer/songwriter Sophie B. Hawkins, a 1993 Grammy-winner for best new artist who had a string of hits including “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover”, “Right Beside You”, and “As I Lay Me Down”, and singer/songwriter Allison Ponthier best known for her critically acclaimed EPs “Faking My Own Death”, and 2022’s “Shaking Hands With Elvis”.
