Fall at Caramoor: In the fall, Caramoor goes inside the Rosen House Music Room complete with Renaissance furniture,, Gothic tapestries, stained glass and a great lineup of classical, American roots and jazz.
Flamenco in the Courtyard, Caramoor, Wed, 9/15: 11am: Caramoor rolls out it’s Wednesday Morning concerts into the Spanish Courtyard for this special 45 minute performance of dance, vocals and guitar. In Mo Yang (violin), Caramoor, Wed, 9/12: 11am: Enjoy a 45 minute performance from violinist In Mo Yang in the Rosen House Music Room for just $25. But they’ve got a waiting list to see this iconic duo who presaged the Americana movement in the 170 seat Rosen House Music Room – complete with Renaissance furniture, Gothic tapestries, stained glass and four chandeliers. Camille Thurman with the Darrell Green Trio, Caramoor, Sat, 10/20: 8pm: Following her memorable performance at Caramoor’s 2017 Jazz Festival, Camille Thurman returns to the Rosen House Music Room. Evnin Rising Stars, Pamela Frank Artistic Director, Caramoor – Sat, 10/27: 8pm & Sun, 1-/28: 3pm: Distinguished artists Pamela Frank (violin), Timothy Eddy (cello) and Gilbert Kalish (piano) mentor and perform with a new generation of classical musicians. Spooky Tales, Caramoor, Tues, 10/30: 3:30pm: Come with your little ones to a riveting storytelling performance to begin your Halloween festivities, followed by a special brew (hot cider) and other ghostly treats (cookies) served in the Summer Dining Room. Julia Bullock (soprano) and John Arida (piano), Caramoor, Sun, 11/4: 3pm: Praised as a “fast-rising soprano” by The New York Times, Julia Bullock was mentored at Caramoor in their Schwab Vocal Rising Star program. Omer Quartet, Caramoor, Sun, 11/11: 3pm: Caramoor’s 2018-19 Ernst Stiefel String Quartet-In-Residence performs works by Haydn, Debussy, Beethoven and Chris Rogerson in their first concert in the Rosen House. Molsky’s Mountain Drifters, Caramoor, Sat, 11/17: 8pm: Hailed by the likes of Tony Trishka and The Punch Brothers, Molsky’s Mountain Drifters is a trio fronted by master fiddle player and multi-instrumentalist Bruce Molsky. He is joined by guitarist Stash Wyslouch, “a brilliant and free-thinking mind”, and banjo player Allison de Groot’s “exquisite tone, timing, and taste” (Tony Trishka) to bring new ideas to old music. The English Concert, Caramoor, Fri, 11/30: 8pm: The London-based period-instrument ensemble , conducted by Harry Bicket, makes its Caramoor debut in a rare area appearance. Ceclie McLorin Salvant and Sullivan Fortner, Sat, 12/1: 8pm: Jazz vocalist and Grammy-winner Cécile McLorin Salvant and pianist Sullivan Fortner return to Caramoor for this special Benefit Concert. Holiday Tea Musicales, Caramoor, Wed-Thurs, 12/4-12: 1pm: Take part in Caramoor’s great tradition of holiday music with charismatic musicians, festive decorations, and tea service in the majestic Music Room. New York Polyphony, Sing Thee Nowell, Caramoor , Sat, 12/15: 4 & 7pm: This a cappella vocal quartet brings presents a program of sacred Christmas music spanning seven centuries. The Rosen House, decorated for the holidays, is open for self-guided tours between the performances. Santa Visits the Rosen House, Caramoor, Sun, 12/16: 12 & 3pm: Jolly Saint Nick comes to Caramoor to fill the Rosen House with holiday cheer. Kids play I Spy a Santa or Two in the Music Room followed by a 30-minute concert of holiday songs. And then Santa! Santa’s favorite snack, milk and cookies will be served in the Summer Dining Room.
