Golf Tournament for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester – Wed, 9/21: 10:30am. : BGCNW’s annual golf tournament raises funds to support the club’s recreational, educational, social and cultural programs. The event features a brunch buffet at 11am, 18 holes of golf at 12:30pm, cocktails, cigars, dinner, awards and silent auction at 5pm. A Night in the Woods Benefit for Teatown Lake Reservation – Sun, 9/25: 5:30pm: Plant a seed for the environmental leaders of tomorrow with cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction. Journey of the Heart Bike Tour for the Friends of Karen – Fri-Sun, 9/23-25.: The three-day tour covers 150 miles of back roads in Litchfield county and includes farm to table meals at area restaurants, accommodations at the Heritage Inn in Southbury, CT, New England’s fall foliage and more. Local! Harlem Wizards AT BHHS for the Byram Hills Education Foundation – Fri, 9/23: 7pm: Professional trick hoops and alley oops team takes on the Bobcat Bruisers (BHHS faculty.) Since 1994 the BHEF has raised over $3.5 million in grants for state of the art programs and technologies at all of the district’s schools. They recently announced ten new grants totaling $154,000. Community Center of Northern Westchester Annual Benefit – Sat, 9/24: 6pm: The Center’s Cocktail Party and Auction raises funds to provide food, clothing, and other programs to families in need in Northern Westchester. Last year’s auction items included Broadway tickets to The Book of Mormon and Kinky Boots; a golf outing with a former Rangers player, a private tour of The Frick Collection, great local restaurant experiences, and more. Feed Me Fresh: An Edible Evening for the Mount Kisco Child Care Center – Sat, 9/24: 6-10pm: MKCCC’s 11th Feed Me Fresh fundraiser at Ivanna Farms in Bedford Corners offers tastings from top area eateries, an open bar, live music, a wine grab (?) and auctions. This year’s event will honor Linda Mahon and The Junior League of Westchester. Feed Me Fresh is named for their garden-to-table nutrition program. Giant Tag Sale to benefit Hudson Chorale, Pleasantville – Fri-Sat, 10/7-8: 9am-4pm: The Hudson Chorale says their Turning Closets into Concerts event is not your typical tag sale. You will find used and antique furniture, collectibles, jewelry, appliances, housewares, CD’s, DVD’s, books, toys, sports equipment, good used clothing and accessories, bed & bath and decorative art. To donate tax-deductible items call (914) 714-3582. All proceeds benefit Hudson Chorale, the area’s largest not-for-profit community chorus. Kisco Country Club – Thurs, 10/13: 6pm: The Mount Kisco Rotary Club invites you to an evening of fine food, wine and music to benefit Richmond Community Services Foundation. Sample the wares of the area’s finest restaurant and wine purveyors. Founded in 1938, the Richmond Foundation operates home-like residences in Westchester County to support the lifelong needs of children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities that require complex medical needs. New Castle Historical Society 50th Anniversary Gala – Sat, 10/15: 6-9pm: In honor of this milestone, the NCHS will host a 50th Anniversary Gala – “Party Likes It’s 1966,” at the Apple Hill Farm Historic Mansion at 35 Apple Hill Lane, Chappaqua. At the event, the NCHS will honor Toni and Albert Hutin for their many years of dedicated service to the NCHS. The evening features dinner, dancing and an open bar. There will be a live and silent auction of a host of great items including: tickets to Broadway’s Hamilton, NY Giants vs. Detroit Lions tickets, a golf package at Tamarack Country Club, a Swedish massage and more. Armonk, Bedford, Chappaqua Schools Color Run, Fox Lane HS – Sun, 10/16: 8:30am. The Family Reach Clubs of Byram Hills, Fox lane, Greeley and John Jay High Schools color run is a 5K race (where you run through a mist of non-toxic paint). The event raises funds for The Family Reach Foundation (FRF) – a non-profit that assists families struggling with cancer. They have raised over $200,000 for FRF over the past four years. Making a Difference Benefit Dinner for Pace Women’s Justice Center – Wed, 10/19: 6pm: Join event co-chairs Chief Anne FitzSimmons and Lawrence McElroen, Esq. at this year’s event that will honor PWJC’s Visionaries: Michael Dowd, Vicki Lutz, Susan Pollet and Jane Toyama-Martin. The Pace Women’s Justice Center offers legal assistance and free legal clinics for victims of domestic violence and for seniors who are victims of abuse and financial exploitation. An Evening in Good Taste To End Childhood Hunger for the Food Bank for Westchester – Thurs, 10/20: 6:30-9pm: Eat, drink and make a difference at the 26th annual benefit for the Food Bank of Westchester. The event features fine food and world class wines by top chefs and vintners from Saltaire, The Inn at Pound Ridge, Crabtree’s, Modern Barn, Equus, Restaurant North and more. New attractions include an outdoor beer garden and VIP vodka lounge. Last year the Food Bank raised over $200,000 to help fight hunger in Westchester. Speak Out Against Hunger Gala, Hillside Food Outreach – Sat, 10/29: 6pm.: NY Yankee legend and jazz musician Bernie Williams hosts this gala dinner and auction. Hillside Food Outreach delivers groceries to over 2,500 men women and children in need throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York and Fairfield County in CT. Northern Westchester Hospital’s Annual Benefit – Centennial Gala – Sat, 11/5: 6:30pm: Benefit Co-chairs, Armonk’s Michaela and Skip Beitzel and Cynthia and Paul Mas invite you to NWH’s Centennial Benefit. Shimmer and shine for cocktails, dinner, dessert and dancing at this event under the Centennial Tent on the NWH campus. The event will honor community honorees Vicki Aranow Feiner & Fred Feiner MD, Babs & Charlie Johnson and Barbara & the late Phillips Lounsbery. Chappaqua Cares Empty Bowls Westchester, Whippoorwill Club – Sun 11/13: 5pm: Chappaqua Cares 2nd Annual Empty Bowls benefit will be held at the Armonk’s Whippoorwill Club on Sunday, 11/13 at 5pm. Empty Bowls benefits to end hunger was started in the 1990’s by Michigan high school students and has since been replicated worldwide. Part of each Empty Bowls event is the sale of handprinted bowls by local students and even celebrities. Last year Chappaqua Cares auctioned off a bowl from Pharell. Local! Wine in the Woods, Westmoreland Sanctuary – 11/18: 6-9pm: Westmoreland’s fundraiser will be held in their historic 200-year old church that serves as their nature museum. It will be transformed by naturally derived décor to complement its permanent exhibits of native flora and fauna. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Westmoreland Sanctuary’s core conservation focus is restoring native plants to our community and forest. These habitat restoration efforts are used in their teachings to nearly 10,000 school children each year. You also can sponsor a tree in their forest . (260, Chestnut Ridge Rd., Mt. Local! Bedford Village Chowder & Marching Club Fall Dinner Dance – Sat, 10/15: It’s the event of the season for BVC&M. Enjoy dinner, dancing and cocktails with the people who have raised over $750,000 since 1956 for local youth programs in arts and music, club and school sports, scouts, youth outreach, scholarships and community services.
