Fall Road Races & Charity Walks

Fall Road Races & Charity Walks: We can’t believe that we’re still writing about event cancellations as we look into the fall. Where we once reported elven fall road and trail races and charity walks we’re down to six including several new format of virtual events. What’s a virtual race – run or walk wherever you are within an allotted time frame and report in your times. It’s a nice way to stay connected and continue to support local charities but seriously, virtual 5Ks?

First the cancellations

Sadly we report that the Sarah Bishop Bushwhack 10K in Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem is cancelled for 2020. The American Heart Association Heart Walk was moved from the fall to May – and then cancelled. Rocky’s 5K at Rockefeller State Park in Pleasantville, Run the Farm at Muscoot Farm, and Jamie’s 5K Run for Love held annually in conjunction with the Armonk Cider & Donut Festival have also been cancelled. We can’t find any information on the Church Tavern Challenge held annually on Labor Day at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lewisboro. And no news yet on the Bedford Turkey Trot held on Saturday after Thanksgiving.
