Eight Egg-cellent hunts & decorating events: Here’s six egg hunts and two special egg decorating events to help celebrate the season.
Natural Egg Dying Workshop – Lasdon Park: Color your Easter eggs using nature’s palette of colors from fruits, vegetables and spices. Get ready for Easter with an interactive demo on how to prepare natural dyes from items in your kitchen and your yard! The’ll have samples of dyed eggs at different stages of production and dyes made from everything from turmeric to beets! Learn how to blow eggs to keep your decorated designs indefinitely. Egg-Cellent Hunt – Armonk: Wear boots and bring a bag to North Castle Recreation’s annual egg hunt for boys and girls pre-K through grade 5. Sat, 3/19: 10:30am SHARP! Rain Date: Sun, 3/20. Egg Dying Workshop – Muscoot Farm: Muscoot Farm dyes eggs for spring in this special event for kids and families. Sun, 3/20: 1-3pm. (Muscoot Farm, Rt. 100, Somers; www.muscootfarm.org)
Day & Night Egg Hunts in Bedford: Kids, ages 2-10 by day. They’ll collect over 6,000 plastic eggs scattered across the fields at John Jay Homestead, then have a photo op with the Spring Bunny and a magic show by David Levitan. BYO baskets. Tues, 3/22: 11:15 am SHARP! No registration required. (John Jay Homestead, Rt. 22, Katonah) Kids, grades 3-7, hunt at night. Bring a flashlight for the hunting and a bag for the goodies. Egg Hunt Festival – Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard – North Salem: Come for the Easter egg hunt and stay for the face paintings, hayrides, pony rides, bounce house and the Easter Bunny. The grill will be on, serving foods for guests from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Children can even play with the goats and baby chicks. Pre-registration required. Fri-Sat, 3/25-26: Start times for ages 3 & under on the hour from 1am-3pm. Start times for ages 4-6 on the half-hour at 11:30am, 12:30 & 1:30pm. Chappaqua Fire Department Egg Hunt: Be there by 12:30 for the Chappaqua Fire Department’s Egg Hunt that kicks off at 1pm on Sun, 3/27 at Chappaqua Crossing, Rt. 177 Roaring Brook Rd. The bunny will be cruising downtown Chappaqua on Sat, 3/26: 11:30am.
Heckscher Farm Egg Hunt: Children ages six and under can bring their own baskets and search for hundreds of eggs that will be hidden all over Heckscher Farm.
