Greenwich Wine & Food: Celebrity Chefs, New Orleans Cuisine & Trombone Shorty
Greenwich Wine & Food’s (GWF) 1oth Anniversary celebration will kick off on October 1 with a tribute to New Orleans food at their The Big Easy event at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre. On October 7 GWF will hold its 10th Anniversary Celebrity Chef Gala at Abigail Kirsch The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT. This event will feature 17 award-winning chefs preparing four-course meals to honor Chef Jacques Pépin.
GWF has also announced three additional Pop-Up events including an Omakase Dinner at Rowayton Seafood Restaurant and Market and a Pop-Up Dinner at Kneads bakery, cafe and flour mill in Westport. With more pop-up events to come.
The Big Easy at the Capitol Theatre on October 1
The Big Easy is GWF’s reimagined “dine around” Grand Tasting event with a NOLA theme and will honor legendary New Orleans chef and restaurateur Dickie Brennan. Brennan will curate a not-to-be-missed Cajun and Creole menu from acclaimed regional chefs. Expect Bourbon Street iconic staples like Hurricanes, Mudslides, local craft brews and premium wines to capture the creole spirit. In keeping with this theme the theater will be transformed into a mini-French Quarter and will feature live music from Trombone Shorty, Big Head Todd & The Monsters and Dumpstaphunk featuring Cyril Neville Performing the Music of The Meters and more.
Celebrity Chef Gala on October 7
GWF has also added some new wrinkles to their 10th Anniversary Celebrity Chef Gala on October 7 at Abigail Kirsch The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT. The Chef’s Gala will honor Chef Jacques Pépin and award-winning chefs will prepare their own signature hail to his legacy with a creative and unique four-course dinner. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase seats at a 10-person table directly overlooking their favorite chef who will prepare exquisite dishes just for their table…. but first come first serve. The four-course dinner will be paired with Vergelegen Wines – South Africa’s Vineyard of the Year 2021 and USA exclusively through VClub. Music & Dancing with DJ April Larken will follow the meal.
The evening will begin with a 6:00pm VIP reception with Pépin, Michel Nischan (Wholesome Wave), Rocco DiSpirito, Silvia Barban and other special guests (for special ticketholders only). A cocktail reception will follow at 6:30pm, followed by the Chef’s Table dinner at 7:30pm. Confirmed chefs who will prepare a four-course meal in front of guests at their designated tables include:
