Gumdrop Lane from Armonk’s Queen of Christmas
Gumdrop Lane from Armonk’s Queen of Christmas: Is Armonk mom, Jenni Amicucci, the “Queen of Christmas”? You decide. Rumor has it she has five fully ornamented Christmas trees in her house including a Pokémon Go tree decked out in Pikachus, Squirtles, and Rattata. And two more in her new Event Décor, Party Favors & Gift Shop, Gumdrop Lane that she recently opened in that cute little dollhouse of a building on the corner of MacDonald Avenue and Bedford Road in Armonk.
The storefront, which soon will carry old fashioned candy by the pound, offers a sampling of what you can find on her website Gumdroplane.com. A former medical malpractice attorney, Kim launched the site in 2015 as a craft lifestyle blog. It morphed into an ecommerce site offering DIY craft supplies such as candle making kits, ribbon and tulle; party favors for all occasions; event décor featuring banners, bunting and garland and gifts.
But for now, she’s all decked out for the holidays, offering everything from toys to bows and garlands to wreaths and trees — all perfect, she says, “for Christmas, Hanukkah or just for no reason whatsoever.”
“I have gifts for everybody and anybody,” she says, proudly — and they all start at prices as low as $5. Some of her best sellers include Emoji elves – the smiley face, the windy face, and the cool glasses, selling for $6 each, and the “Water into Wine” drink markers (from $12.99 per pack), featuring a variety of Jesus look-a-like figurines, with topical names like Christ, J-Dawg and Kanye.
Looking for festive holiday decor? Gumdrop Lane’s got you covered there as well! “You can get a {pre-lit} Christmas tree in every color of the rainbow, a wreath in every color of the rainbow,” says Amicucci “in addition to tons of other gifts,” which include holiday-themed balloons and custom-made ornaments (“I can customize or bedazzle anything you want,” she says, with a smile; “Just call me and drop it off… it’ll be covered in rhinestones by hand by the end of the day!”), a round red-velvet, sequined faux-fur trimmed tablecloth ($150, available on the website), and various holiday plates, risers and cake stands — the perfect base for that famed Christmas fruitcake.
Gumdrop Lane specializes in all the holidays with special themed items Fall celebrations, Halloween and Thanksgiving, too. It’s all part of Amicucci’s aim — to create, as her business tagline states, “a sweeter life with a little sazón.”
