Holiday Mini-camps: Here are some options to keep the kids engaged during the (H)oliday, (W)inter, (S)pring and (MLK) Martin Luther King Day school recesses.
Bedford Hill Memorial Park Outdoor Ice Skating: Ice skating is available at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park’s Lake Marie and Cherry Ridge Lake (on Lakeside Drive off Cherry Street) in Katonah. Signage will be posted at each site indicating whether the lakes are safe (or not) for skating. For skating conditions call 914.864.377 in advance.

Harvey School Public Skating: (H) (MLK) (W) Jim Whiting and staff at Bedford Recreation, in association with The Harvey School offers public skating at The Harvey School’s Evarts Rink on the first Monday after Christmas, Martin Luther King Day and Presidents Day. John Jay Homestead (H) Eight themed history camps for ages 5-10 that features tours of the homestead and presentations of life in Revolutionary America with hands on activities and crafts. In What’s Cooking, students tour and touch objects in the kitchen and dining room and then prepare a historic recipe. In Architectural Scavenger Hunt, students learn about learn about various architectural styles represented in the Homestead and throughout Katonah and make a gingerbread house.
