Yorktown: Peter Pratt’s Inn: (Dinner $44.95 Tues–Sun) This Yorktown mainstay always puts a modern spin on traditional dishes. And its got the bones to match as you will dine in a Revolutionary War era colonial home across from the Davenport House – General George Washington’s command post.
Yorktown Heights: Barnwood Grill: (Lunch $29.95: & Dinner $44.95 Sun-Thurs) The menu focuses on homestyle cooking. Try their award-winning pear basil martini. HVRW menu.
Worth the Trip: Best Menus HVRW
Peter Pratt’s Inn, Yorktown: (Dinner $44.95 Tues–Sun) Bring friends if you want a taste of every “must try” on Peter’s Pratt’s HVRW menu. Including the Coconut Curry Butternut Squash Soup (with peanuts & Thai herbs), Peking Duck Quesadilla, Elk & Pear Sausage and Pork Burnt Ends with cheesy grits Habanero bacon jam. And that’s just the starters. For entrees we like the Balsamic Glazed Short Ribs, Chicken & Westchester Mushroom Co. Ship Lantern Inn, Milton: (Dinner $44.95 Thurs-Sun) Established in 1925, this traditional white table cloth American knows how to keep itself modern. With an HVRW starters menu that features Braised Baby Pork Osso Buco Risotto/goat cheese, Red Chile Dusted & Roasted Garlic Panama Shrimp and a Tri-Color Beets & Arugula Salad with Ricotta Salata. Entrees include an Inside Out Beef Wellington, Orrechiete with Maryland Crabmeat, Faroe Island Salmon with a Crown Maple syrup, tequila and lime glaze, and a traditional Turkey dinner, You have the Flourless Swiss Chocolate Almond Torte. Maria Restaurant, New Rochelle: (Lunch $29.95 & Dinner $44.95 Mon-Sat) A three-time (2020, ’21 &’22) Michelin Bib Gourmand Winner. With 8 starters and 9 entrees offered you are sure to find something special on Maria’s HVRW Menu. We’re starting with the Seared Rare Sesame Tuna, and the Lobster Bisque with shrimp, tarragon & garlic toast. For Mains we’re going with the Slow Briased then Roasted Lamb Neck (who knew that was a thing?) and the Butter Roasted Whole Cornish Game Hen. Le Provencal, Mamaroneck: (Lunch $29.95 Mon-Fri & Dinner $44.95 Mon-Fri & Sun) We always enjoy our trips to Mamaroneck’s clubby Le Provencal. And they hit all the right French Bistro notes with their spot on versions of Moules “Poulette,” Beef Bourguignon, John Dory with eggplant caviar and such. But we’re going with the Duck Confit Tacos and the Pork Shank with Autumn Vegetable Risotto. Dessert will be an arm wrestle however as it is tough to choose between the Créme Caramel, the Chocolate Mousse Tart, and Serge’s Banana Cake, chocolate, vanilla, almond. Goosefeather at the Tarrytown House Estate: (Dinner $44.95 Sunday to Friday) Here’s another one of our Fave Raves – and its great to see Chef Talde, a James Beard nominee and Iron Chef competitor play in HVRW. You can read our review to find out more about the great space and ambience of this truly special “Destination Asian.” Meanwhile, we’re going with the Crispy Shrimp Boa, pickled daikon, General Tso sauce, cabbage and our tried and true Shaved Snow Pea Salad, Asian pear peanut, pickled chilis for starters. The Black Pepper Beef, charred onion, holy basil, rice and the Supreme Rice, Land X Air X Sea Collaboration whatever that is. Because we trust the Chef. And the Mochi Waffle, vanilla custard, strawberry jam, white chocolate ice cream, strawberries for dessert. Because that’s how Chef Talde rolls.(49 E. Red Horse By David Burke, White Plains: (Lunch $29.95 Thurs-Sun & Dinner $44.95 Mon-Sun) Our new Fave Rave from celebrity chef David Burke, the only American to ever secure the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Diplome d’Honneur. Read our Review. It’s great to see the Lobster Dumplings and Bison Short Ribs with Chow Fun Noodles on the menu. We had both and loved them. And we saw many more plates of each travel from the kitchen to tables throughout the gorgeous expanse of dining room. We also loved our roasted Bronzino – so we can vouch for the seafood if the Grilled Shrimp with Chinese five spice or the Ginger Salmon with root vegetables and sweet chili sauce catch your eye.
