Jacob Burns Film Center: His Song – A Harry Belafonte Retrospective
The Jacob Burns Film Center’s Belafonte retrospective opens on February 20 with a screening of Carmen Jones, Otto Preminger’s 1954 film about a pilot in training at an all-black army base during the Korean War. Over the course of nine nights and days running through March 19 – His Song: A Harry Belafonte Retrospective will screen seven narrative and documentary films starring Harry Belafonte including the television showcase Tonight with Belafonte, Ján Kádár’s The Angel Levine with Zero Mostel and Spike Lee’s 2018 BlacKkKlansman.
