Jacob Burns Film Center’s Take 3 Wine Bar & Café
The Jacob Burns Film Center’s new Take 3 Wine Bar & Café is set to open on Thursday, April 11. The culmination of a broader theater renovation, Take 3 moves this local not-for-profit cinéaste treasure into the “lifestyle” age of movie theater experiences. If you have ever struggled with how to juggle a good pre-theatre bite with scheduled movie times (or a place to play Janet Maslin over a glass of wine after the movie) – your nosh and a movie worries are over. The Take 3 Wine Bar & Café located on the center’s third floor offers movie heads an array of local delicacies. And there’s plenty of space in the 85-seat café to unload a fleet of 7-seat SUVs full of kids after a JBFC Kids Saturday screening for a kid-friendly non-alcoholic drinks and a snack.
The Food
Take 3 Wine Bar & Café’s menu will feature sandwiches, salads, pastries, charcuterie, mac n’ cheese, pretzels, and baked goods from local businesses including Second Mouse Cheese Shop, Irving Farm, Posh Pretzels, Feel Good Booch—and renowned New York City restaurant Balthazar. The beer will be sourced from the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company as well as Soul Brewing Company, along with cider from Thompson’s Cider Mill. The wines include a selection of reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling.
The Movie Posters
What To Do attended the press preview party on Wednesday night, April 3 and can highly recommend the chilled Sauvi Blanc and the cheese board. And the exhibition of legendary graphic designer Bill Gold’s iconic movie posters featuring classics like Casablanca, Camelot, McCabe & Mrs. Miller and Mystic River.
The Patrons
Take 3 Wine Bar & Café was made possible thanks in part to a generous gift from JBFC Board Member Ginny Gold (Bedford Hills) in honor of her husband, Marty Gold, who passed away in 2017. A wine connoisseur and the President and CEO of Martin Scott Wines, Ltd., Marty was a member of the JBFC Board of Directors for many years, serving as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
The Hours
The Take 3 Wine Bar & Café will be open to the public and ticket-holders during the hours of operation on Thursdays from 4pm to 10pm and Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 10pm.
