Meet Mt. Kisco’s Flip Flop Bitch: Laura Massari, a financial adviser and Certified Financial Planner at Axiom Wealth Capital in Mt. Kisco, is famous for more than being the winner of our recent sweepstakes for a dinner for two at La Cremaillere Restaurant in Banksville. She’s also the Flip Flop Bitch!

We don’t mean that she’s indecisive and overly demanding. We mean that she’s a co-owner, along with her mom Sinful Cindy, of their own line of Tote(ally) Chic Tote bags that you can buy on their website theflipflopbitch.com.

“We were walking in Manhattan from a cocktail party, about four years ago, and I pulled out a tote to change out of my stilettoes and into my flip flops and the girls were very jealous,” Sinful Cindy told us. “My friend asked me, what are you the flip flop bitch, as she hobbled along in her heels.”

That’s when she decided to manufacture her own line of totes and mother and daughter have been the flip flop bitch ever since. #ItsOkayToBeABitch

Hand-made locally, they gifted Kathy Lee Gifford one of the first pairs at a meet and greet at Bloomingdale’s in White Plains. Within in days, KLG was featuring them on NBC’s Today Show in their “Favorite Things” segment.

“She didn’t even tell us she was going to do it. I cried when I saw it. And then, unbelievable, we ran into her on the street in Greenwich and she asked us if we got any calls. Can you believe it? Did we get any calls? She is so wonderful and genuine in person, ” said Sinful (and somewhat sentimental) Cindy.

Since then they have developed three lines of wristlets (great for proms and bar/bat mitzvahs) and full totes ­– for the flip flops and stilettoes. Their Fashion Tote line ranges from the Flirty Zebra and the LBT (Little Black Tote) to the Gold Sueded Vegan Leather and the reversible Spotted Cougar Tote (shown above). They also make a line of Sparkly Totes that they sell for Bridal Parties (Purely White shown below) that were distributed in the Swag Bags at the Oscars and the Emmy Awards.

Laura and Cindy were recently selected as one of forty co-authors to pen their entrepreneurial tale in the book Passionistas: Tips, Tales & Tweetables From Women Pursuing Their Dreams, curated by media personality and inspirational speaker Erika De La Cruz. “We connected with her on Instagram and she invited us to share the FFB story in this inspirational book for women.” The book was released in early December and was Amazon’s #1 Bestseller for the week.

Meet them in Katonah at Books, Looks & Bubbly

You can meet Laura and Sinful Cindy at their local book signing cocktail party on Thursday, January 26 at 7pm at Peppinos at 116 Katonah Ave., in Katonah. They’ll be talking about the new book and will be joined by Dr. William Gael, a board certified physician specializing in aesthetic dermatology and anti aging medicine from Manhattan, who will be offering free consultations to anyone buying their book. While you’re there you can pick up a tote or two … of course.
