New Pop Up Site To Boost Vax in our Area: 63.5 percent of adult New Yorkers have completed at least one vaccine dose – up from 61.8% last week. And 54.7% have completed there vaccine series – up from 52.2% last week. And 51.9% of all New Yorkers have had at least one dose of the vaccine – up rom 50% last week. While 43.9% of all New Yorkers have complete their series. Meanwhile the state’s allotment doses hit its lowest mark since late February at 753+ thousand doses. It was the second consecutive week that New York received less than a million doses. After ten consecutive weeks above that mark – peaking at more than 1.7 million doses that arrived between April 5 and April 12.
To encourage people to get the vaccine Cuomo announced fifteen new pop up sites this week including the Westchester County Airport which will be adminisering the J&J vaccine from May 24 to 28 from 5 to 9pm at the Main Terminal by the Baggage Claim.
Meanwhile the statewide positivity continues to drop from 1.07% last week to .9% this week.
More Reopening News: Starting May 22, the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets will have fully vaccinated fan sections. This will increase capacity at their 2021 NBA home playoff games at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center. Individuals seated in the vaccinated sections will have to show proof of full COVID-19 immunization status, which can be provided through paper form (CDC card), digital application or the State’s Excelsior Pass.
