Hoppfest, Bedford Village Green, Sat, 10/13: 6:30pm: Oktoberfest with a twist of history becomes a Hoppfest featuring Bedford Brew, seasonal beers from Captain Lawrence and Broken Bow, wines from Gonzalez Byass, live music with DogHouse, hearty appetizers, a Lucky Draw raffle and more! Local! Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester Golf Tournament, Glen Arbor Country Club, Tues, 10/16: 10:30am: BGCNW’s annual golf tournament raises funds to support the club’s recreational, educational, social and cultural programs. There will be live music as you sample fine food and wine from the area’s finest restaurants, all to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester and other Mount Kisco Rotary Club philanthropic organizations. Food Bank for Westchester’s An Evening in Good Taste To End Childhood Hunger, White Plains, Thurs, 10/18: 6:30-9pm: Eat, drink and make a difference at the 28th annual benefit for the Food Bank of Westchester. The event features fine food and world class wines from 25 top chefs including Chef Peter Kelly of X2O. Plus whiskey and Scotch tastings, a Martini bar and MUCH CHOCOLATE! Modern Warrior Live, Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, Wed, 10/24: 7:30pm: The Mental Health Association of Westchester presents this musical theatrical production of the story of Staff Sergeant Jaymes Poling, who spent three years in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army’s 82^nd Airborne Division. The production that traces the path from Poling’s enlistment and deployment to his subsequent struggles with the harrowing memories of war was written by Poling and renowned jazz trumpeter Dominick Farinacci. Local! Westmoreland Sanctuary Fall Fundraiser, Fri, 11/2: 7pm: Bend an elbow to support the Westmoreland Sanctuary at Westmoreland’s 200-year old church that serves as their nature museum. Westmoreland Sanctuary’s core conservation focus is restoring native plants to our community and forest. First Congregational Church of Chappaqua Tag Sale, Fri, 11/2: 10am-7pm, Sat, 11/3: 9am-2pm & Sun, 11/4: 12-2pm: The Church’s annual fall tag sale fundraiser offers new and gently used merchandise from Chappaqua households and local merchants. Local! 4th Annual Chappaqua Cares Empty Bowls, Crabtree’s Kittle House, Sun, 11/18: 5-8pm: This event from Chappaqua Cares is a benefit to help raise awareness and funds to combat hunger. Each year they auction off bowls created by local students and celebrities. In past year’s they have auctioned off hand-painted bowls from Hillary Clinton, Bette Midler, Warren Haynes of Govt Mule and others. (11 Kittle Rd, Chappaqua;www.chappaquacares.org)
