Pandemic Players Virtual Summer Fest
Pandemic Players Virtual Summer Fest
The Schoolhouse Theater recently announced their Pandemic Players’ full summer schedule as they continue their weekly (impromptu) play readings that began last May with the appropriately programmed post-apocalyptic black comedy from Samuel Beckett, Endgame. (Featuring the award-winning theater, film and television actor Austin Pendleton.) Since then The Pandemic Players have gone on an incredible stretch run of weekly readings that has included such stand out plays in every theatrical genre and period from Christopher Durang’s Beyond Therapy to Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
Their weekly readings have featured stand out performers such as Tony Award-nominee Tim Jerome (Me and My Girl) and Drama Desk and Obie Award-winner Austin Pendleton (The Last Sweet Days of Isaac). Pendleton, who is best known for his role as the mysterious Marty in Christmas With the Kranks, has had a prolific film and television career. Appearing in Finding Nemo, Finding Dory, A Beautiful Mind, My Cousin Vinny, Catch 22, Searching for Bobby Fischer and Frasier.
And on August 21 Academy Award-winner Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Tony Award-nominee (They’re Playing Our Song) and stand-up comedy legend Robert Klein will read two comedic one-acts by Alan Arkin in a special Benefit for The Schoolhouse Theater. Here’s the full summer lineup.
