Summer Concerts @ Wampus Brook Park
Summer Concerts @ Wampus Brook Park: The Armonk Chamber of Commerce and North Castle Recreation presents low density summer concerts at Wampus Brook Park. Pre-registration through the Town’s Recreation Department is required for admission. The grass will be marked for safe social distancing and masks are required. The series kicks off on Thursday, July 9 at 6:30pm and includes two shows in July and two in August. Here’s the lineup:
Thursday, July 9: Tramps Like Us is, of course, the Springsteen Tribute band fronted by mark Salore of Chappaqua. Tramps recreates eight iconic Springsteen Shows from the 1975 show at NYC’s The Bottom Line to the 2016 show at Met Life Stadium. They have performed over 2,000 shows over the past thirty years and regularly performs at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park and The Canal Room in NYC.
Saturday, July 25 the series continues with Marc Berger: Mark’s music is inspired by stories of the American West of A.B. Guthrie and paintings of the West by Frederick Remington. He has performed at Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival and The Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals and has opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts. His song THE LAST ONE was a staple of Richie Havens’ concerts for years and has been quoted in the NY Times and featured on The CBS Evening News.
On Thursday, August 6, Ladies and Gentleman return following their 2019 Armonk debut will perform a live variety of classic, soul, funk and R&B hits.
The series concludes on Saturday, August 29 with The 1 Stop Pony Band: Brian La Blanc and band captures the voices of some of the most iconic musicians and prolific hit-makers including Billy Joel, The Doors, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, John Lennon, Neil Young, and Jimmy Buffett.
