The Bedford Playhouse Reopens
The Bedford Playhouse Reopens: Following Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement last week, the Bedford Playhouse (BPH) will reopen to the public at 25% capacity on on Friday with two show of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back @ 6pm and 9pm. Get your tickets early for one of those luxury recliners!
On Saturday they have lined up three shows beginning with one of our faves Monsters, Inc. at 1:45 pm. At 4:15pm, The Playhouse will screen LaLa Land, the 2016 original movie musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Famously, LaLa Land was mistakenly called out by presenter Faye Dunaway to receive the Best Picture Oscar. After the entire crew hit the stage they had to be called back to allow the crew of Moonlighting to accept the award. The gaffe soured an otherwise great night for the movie which received a record 14 nominations and six awards including Best Director and Best Actress for Emma Stone. Finally at 7:30pm, BPH will screen Casino Royale, the 2006 remake of the James Bond classic starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007.
The Sunday schedule kids off with a Playhouse Cafe Brunch at noon and screenings of Bridesmaids, the 2011 comedy from Judd Apatow, starring Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph at 1:30pm, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone at 4:30pm.
